You make the difference

Become part of a great story

St Maryien is one of the most magnificent cathedrals, a fragile masterpiece that requires constant care.

Give and Donate

Together for St Marien

Restoration and conservation work, operation and maintenance cost thousands of euros per day - our entrance fees only cover a small part of these daily costs. We therefore rely on generous support to preserve this magnificent cathedral for future generations. Donations, collections and endowments for special purposes and tasks in the church and diaconia: it is only through these financial resources that the projects of our church community are made possible.

We look forward to your support. Please provide your full contact details for the donation receipt.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Volunteering: Are you in?

A STRONG TEAM

A church community lives through the voluntary commitment of many people. This is particularly true for St Marien with its enormous historical building fabric and its diverse tasks in the city. Our more than 120 volunteers contribute their talents to one of Lübeck's landmarks in numerous places, sometimes in the foreground, sometimes in the background.

Our governing body, the parish council, is also made up of volunteers.

WHERE CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

  • Guided tours in the church and through the towers and over the vaults (foreign languages such as english, danish, polish, french, spanish, italian, swedish etc. are always very welcome)
  • MarienTaler cash desk and kiosk (knowledge of german required)
  • Public Relations & IT
  • Information service during the opening hours for our guests
  • Pastoral care
  • Event support, concert box office

LET'S TALK!

Would you like to get involved in St Marien? Then get in touch with us! We will arrange a personal appointment with you to bring your interests and our needs together.

We look forward to meeting you!

Volunteering in a church?

In St Marien, you are surrounded by living history. Not like in a museum where history is only on display, but here you are right where history happened and is still happening today. And I like to pass on this enthusiasm through my voluntary work.
